Their discussion focused on the growth outlook and development potential of Northern Greece. In this context, Eldorado Gold’s contribution to strengthening this outlook was highlighted, through the implementation of a high-standard investment plan in Halkidiki via its subsidiary, Hellas Gold.
It was also underlined that Eldorado Gold can further support Thrace’s development momentum and economy through the implementation of the mining project in Perama, Evros, which is the responsibility of its subsidiary, Thrace Mines. For this project, the Environmental Impact Assessment has been completed and submitted to the competent ministry, and the process now awaits public consultation and the ministry’s final decision.
During the meeting, both parties acknowledged the need to attract investments to Northern Greece and emphasized that Eldorado Gold is one of the country’s largest foreign direct investors, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to strengthening local communities and the national economy, increasing employment, and shaping a stable, investment-friendly profile for the wider region.
